Your weekly dose of creative inspiration, resources and awesomeness.
I’m sorry for the long wait for this Weekly Wonders edition; I’ve been very busy with work. I still am, but I thought you waited long enough. To make a change, I’m featuring this week artists whose work is a bit different from what you will usually see on this blog. Here are Weekly Wonders 58’s champions. Enjoy!
Web: StockFreeImages
StockFreeImages has a gallery of over 750 000 free stock images. After using it a few times, I can say it’s a very useful resource for designers. Don’t forget to bookmark it!
Tattoo Art: Andrey Barkov (aka Grimmy3d)
Andrey Barkov is a very talented Russian tattoo artist. Unlike most artists in his trade who work with lines, grimmy3d produces stunning artworks which look like brush paintings. The level of details and colors in his work are breath-taking to say the least. Make sure to stop by his gallery to see more of his work!
Sculpture: Trevor Grove
Trevor Grove is an American sculptor whose work revolves around action figures and collectibles. To this day, he’s hand-sculpted beautiful models of known characters such as Obi-Wan Kenobi (Star Wars), Walter White (Breaking Bad), Sherlock (BBC) and many more. His work shows an expert eye for detail and dynamic postures.
Freebie: Web Browser PSD Frames
Website templates can be very useful for presentations or portfolio showcase. Hongkiat has put together a list of 20 free high-quality browser frames available in PSD. Enjoy.
App: Writer for Android – Free
Since we’ve received our Android, I looked for a simple but effective way to take notes. I stumbled on Writer, an Android app developed by James McMinn. Extremely minimalist, this app will allow the user to take notes, see the word count and add basic styles. The interface is stripped from all eye-candy. The only downside; we’re still waiting for the next update when Write will allow the users to sync and share the documents via email, Dropbox and more. Otherwise it is a great app.
Check us out next week for more weekly wonders!
