Wacom announced today the release of a brand new tablet with integrated display: the Cintiq 24HD. What differentiates it from the other cintiqs?

The 24HD has a 24 inch 1920 x 1200 high definition display and better color performance than the other models from the same line. Just like the Cintiq 21UX (21′ tablet) and the Intuos4 (screen-less), it has 2048 pressure levels, the greatest sensitivity you’ll find on the market. It comes with a stand that can be adjusted for height and angle. Compatible with Mac and PC, this new super gadget had customizable buttons and touch rings on each side for comfort.

Only downside; it’s about 3 times the weight of the Cintiq 21UX, reaching 63 lbs and making it the heaviest tablet… ever. Needless to say you will not be carrying it around (maybe I couldn’t even pick it up by myself, let alone take it with me anywhere!) as it’s meant to be used as a permanent work station.

The Cintiq 24HD sells for US$2,499, which is fair considering you get 3 extra inch of screen and better resolution.

Check out Wacom’s website for the full specs.
